While her affinity for video games began long before college, the possibility of building a career around this passion crystalized at UW Bothell.<\/p>\n\n<p>&ldquo;I would not be where I am today,&rdquo; de Rochefort said, &ldquo;if I had not had that specific sequence of events at UW Bothell &mdash; meeting the people I met, taking the classes that I took, taking the internships I took.&rdquo; In particular, it was her experience as an intern with UW Bothell&rsquo;s Digital Future Lab that <a href=\"\/news\/december-2018\/alumni-profile-de-rochefort\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">catalyzed her career<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IAS alum Simone de Rochefort (&rsquo;13, <a href=\"\/culture-literature-arts#page=page-1\">Culture, Literature &amp; the Arts<\/a>) produces videos for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Polygon<\/a>, a top website for video game news and reviews.
