This allowed us\u00a0to\u00a0work\u00a0on\u00a0the first stage which was data\u00a0cleaning to find\u00a0which IDs matched\u00a0with which alumni.\u00a0足彩app哪个是正规的 second stage of the project was mapping a general idea where current alumni worked based on those\u00a0IDs,\u00a0and this was able to help us\u00a0analyze the data and\u00a0identify\u00a0the\u00a0top employers. With this data we were able to\u00a0proceed\u00a0with the third stage\u00a0which was\u00a0converting a list view to a visualization with graphs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>足彩app哪个是正规的 second project, was a breakdown of a past fundraising\u00a0event\u00a0was\u00a0similar to\u00a0our first project that involved\u00a0us\u00a0data cleaning\u00a0to\u00a0find\u00a0what columns mattered and what\u00a0didn\u2019t. This\u00a0led\u00a0us directly to data\u00a0analysis,\u00a0and visualization.\u00a0But this time it was easier to clean due to\u00a0good record keeping from the Advancement team.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What did you learn about how professional workplaces&nbsp;operate?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the Advancement team\u00a0I\u00a0learned,\u00a0and\u00a0this\u00a0surprised me,\u00a0was how\u00a0it was\u00a0very similar\u00a0to school\u00a0where\u00a0you make the experience how you want\u00a0it\u00a0to be. Everyone was engaging,\u00a0along with\u00a0good communication\u00a0on all parts\u00a0from\u00a0our supervisor BrieAnna Bales emailing us the deliverables for the day\u00a0and\u00a0both BrieAnna and Jessica\u00a0Newkirk letting us know what they wanted with our data that we gathered.\u00a0Another thing I learned is what to look out for in company culture. I always heard horror\u00a0stories,\u00a0and I am\u00a0definitely thankful\u00a0and\u00a0cherish\u00a0that\u00a0my\u00a0first internship\u00a0I got had laughter and support going around the office.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who supported you and helped you&nbsp;grow in&nbsp;your internship?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u202fI would&nbsp;like to&nbsp;give&nbsp;a&nbsp;thank&nbsp;you&nbsp;to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chaise Jung, Connected Learning, for the weekly workshops\u00a0before my internship\u00a0that helped me learn\u00a0how to build my professional identity and network with others. 足彩app哪个是正规的y helped me gain\u00a0additional\u00a0skills in project management,\u00a0writing\u00a0emails, skimming, communication, and many other skills that are important in a professional workplace.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Jesi\u00a0Egan, Undergraduate Research Director, &amp; Chaise\u00a0for the weekly reflections\u00a0and workshops during my internship. This helped me with how to improve\u00a0me\u00a0skills in informational interviews\u00a0and\u00a0reflecting\u00a0on myself during my time as I have been doing that a lot and has helped me recently.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our supervisors BrieAnna and Jessica for creating an amazing workspace\u00a0experience\u00a0as well\u00a0as helping us\u00a0with networking\u00a0and\u00a0setting up meetings with other people inside\u00a0the\u00a0data field\u00a0at the University of Washington.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What was the most challenging part of your internship?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>足彩app哪个是正规的 most challenging part\u00a0during my internship was\u00a0the data cleaning\u00a0part, while I\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0do a lot compared to my partner Jayden Guan because my programming experience was limited.\u00a0However, while\u00a0he\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0there, I was able to practice learning Python to match IDs with alumni.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What was the best or most rewarding part of your internship?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>足彩app哪个是正规的 most rewarding part of my internship\u00a0was the final week when Jayden and I\u00a0were able to give a presentation of our\u00a0journey\u00a0during our 5 weeks\u00a0Internship.\u00a0From\u00a0learning how to use the different databases to\u00a0our process of\u00a0data cleaning and then to finally presenting\u00a0our\u00a0end\u00a0product\u00a0with\u00a0a\u00a0Data Visualization.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How does this internship connect to your longer-term goals?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This internship connects to my\u00a0long-term\u00a0goals from learning\u00a0skills expected in a professional workplace such as professionalism, communication, time management, and leadership.\u00a0While I am still struggling with this sometimes,\u00a0it\u00a0also pushed me to\u00a0break out of my shell and\u00a0push myself out there more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What advice would you give to future Digital Scholars<\/strong>?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One\u00a0advice\u00a0I\u00a0have\u00a0to\u00a0future Digital Scholars is\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0be afraid.\u00a0Even if it is scary,\u00a0or it may hurt,\u00a0it\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0hurt to ask.\u00a0<strong>If you have a question, ask it.<\/strong>\u00a0This applies to\u00a0anything\u00a0but\u00a0for\u00a0example\u00a0the supervisors were more than willing to talk to you and support you during your journey. This way\u00a0both you and your supervisor\u00a0can be on the same page with the work they\u00a0expect out of\u00a0you.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What advice would you give to supervisors and program staff who are supporting Digital Scholars in their internships?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>足彩app哪个是正规的 spring quarter\u00a0workshops helped by teaching\u00a0me new skills or improving my current skills through\u00a0a\u00a0different\u00a0way\u00a0of\u00a0thinking\u00a0how I could do it. 足彩app哪个是正规的 summer quarter workshops helped me reflect on myself more, while not everyone liked doing that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, our supervisors\u00a0set a pretty high bar. I enjoyed working\u00a0in that environment and\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0feel pressure\u00a0or rushed\u00a0with the work they expected from me.
