Who should apply?
- Business degree holders looking to fulfill prerequisites for an accounting graduate degree, such as the Master of Science in Accounting.
- Current accounting professionals with a degree in business or accounting seeking to meet the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination educational requirements.
- Working professionals or recent grads looking to change their career to the accounting field and do not have an undergraduate degree in accounting or business and wish to fulfill prerequisites for the Master of Science in Accounting.
Format
- In-person courses taught by respected University of Washington Bothell faculty
- Accounting classes take place in the evening with business courses (if applicable) available during the day and/or evening.
Course Schedule for Business Majors
Business majors may take up to one year to complete the certificate coursework depending on the number of courses needed.

Course Schedule for Non-Business Majors (Extended Certificate)
For non-business majors it may take up to eight quarters (two years) to complete the program. However, previous business or accounting courses completed before starting the program may reduce the total time required to finish the program.

Prerequisites
- BA or BS degree in Business Administration (for accounting courses only)
- BA or BS degree for the extended certificate for non-business majors.
Tuition
Business Majors:
- Washington State Resident Estimated Total: $13,500
- Non-Resident Estimated Total: $47,000
Non-Business Majors (extended certificate)
- Washington State Resident Estimated Total: $18,000
- Non-Resident Estimated Total: $60,000

Your application will be evaluated on the basis of submitted materials. If accepted, your application information may be shared with program instructors.

English language proficiency requirements for admission
Required Application Materials
- Completed Application Form
- Official Transcript (showing awarded Bachelor’s degree in Business)
- Current Resume
- Statement of Interest explaining your relevant experience and knowledge of the field, as well as your interest in and expectations of the program (250 words maximum)
- Proof of English language proficiency for applicants for whom English is not their native language.
